You Deserve.
The following is a letter I wrote to myself that I keep on my desktop: Reminders to Self. I am sharing it because sometimes we forget what we deserve, especially women who have been taught to make ourselves smaller, less than, and to accept the shenanigans of people who absolutely do not deserve us. That is a run on sentence, but I simply can’t be bothered with it — this is too urgent. Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and people are lonely. People are reaching out to their ex’s (ill-advised) and fantasizing about past encounters that went south, for good reason. We must let go of the past and move toward the future. It is bright, it is full of joy, and a greater love than you have ever known, even if it is only with yourself. Especially if it is with yourself. You deserve it, babe.
You Deserve The Best
You deserve someone who communicates clearly.
You deserve someone who is clear about their needs.
You deserve someone who is clear.
You deserve someone who is safe.
You deserve someone who asks you questions about your life, your inner world.
You deserve someone who wants to understand you.
You deserve someone who is funny and silly.
You deserve someone who is kind.
You deserve someone who is doing the work.
You deserve someone who speaks kindly to you.
You deserve someone who tries.
You deserve someone who wants to be there for you.
You deserve someone who takes care of themselves.
You deserve someone who brings peace to your life.
You deserve someone who makes your life easier.
You deserve someone who brings ease to your nervous system.
You deserve someone who wants to bring you pleasure.
You deserve someone who knows they are lucky to be with you.
You deserve someone who lets you in.
You deserve someone who treats you well.
You deserve someone who considers your feelings.
You deserve someone who pays attention.
You deserve the best.
You deserve.
Somewhere along the way, you lost sight of this. Maybe you never had sight of it. Maybe that’s the problem. Maybe you’re starting to see now. Maybe it is you who is getting clear.
Stop negotiating for the bare minimum.
You deserve love.
You are love.
