One Walmart Town
I grew up in a one Walmart town. There was a Walmart, a Pizza Hut and a Subway I worked at for two weeks for $5.15 an hour until I could no longer stand being around my erratic boss who was on meth and surely losing teeth into the sandwiches. I ate as many free cookies as I could and skedaddled. Sometimes I will randomly think of one night I was closing the store and blasting Kenny Chesney as I mopped, feeling happy and free — this was adulthood and I was a working woman.
